KOTA TINGGI: The police have identified and will summon all five drivers of Lamborghini luxury cars who were spotted driving recklessly and dangerously on the Senai-Desaru Highway recently.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Superintendent Hussin Zamora said, all five drivers and their respective vehicles were successfully tracked through video recordings uploaded by members of the public on Friday.

He said that the 71-second video recording showed that the convoy of luxury cars was being driven in dangerous conditions by recklessly cutting other vehicles to the point of causing an accident.



"The act of driving the car dangerously was found to have been done on the Senai-Desaru Highway and the movement of the vehicle was from Senai towards Bandar Penawar because it was said to be involved in a program there.

"The action was recorded by members of the public and uploaded to the 'National Netizen Department' Facebook page on Friday around 9.13pm.

"Following the recording of the video, the police have managed to locate all the vehicles involved in Desaru at 11.40am on Saturday, in addition to identifying all the male drivers involved," he said in a statement on Saturday.

In the meantime, Hussin said that all the drivers involved, who are estimated to be between 44 and 64 years old, have been tracked down and will be summoned for questioning.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 which is reckless and dangerous driving.

Section 42(1) APJ 1987, if convicted, imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years and a fine of not less than RM5,000 and not more than RM15,000.
