Two Jesus Christ statues in Indonesia among the tallest in the world | Video

JESUS BUNTU BURAKE

The magnificent statue of Jesus Christ in Buntu Burake Hill is located around 4 kilometers away from Makale city center, in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi

Jesus Buntu Burake is a Roman Catholic statue of Jesus Christ at Makale in Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

It is the tallest statue of Jesus Christ in the world, at 40 m (130 ft). It stands on the top of Buntu Burake hill about 1.700 metres above sea level. Jesus Buntu Burake also has a glass bridge.

A competition was held in 2013 to work on this statue and is open to the public. After obtaining the winner, in 2014 the foundation of the statue began to be built and construction of the statue was started in 2013, as designed by Supriadi, an artist of Yogyakarta, with the support of Hardo Wardoyo Suwarto, and made on request of the governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo to promote tourism in Tana Toraja. It was developed piece by piece in Yogyakarta.

In 2015, the statue was completed.

The official inauguration was held on 23 December 2018, by President Joko Widodo as declared on the inauguration inscription on the sidelines of the Tana Toraja Oikumene Christmas celebration

CHRIST BLESSING STATUE

Jesus Blesses or Christ Blessing (in Manado language is Yesus Kase Berkat or Kristus Kase Berkat) is a statue of Jesus Christ in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The structure stands 50 metres (158.3 feet) tall and consists of 20 metres of pedestal and 30 metres of statue.

It is made of 25 tonnes of metal fibre and 35 tonnes of steel, and is located at the peak of the CitraLand residential estate. As of 2010 it is Asia's 2nd tallest and the world's 4th tallest statue of Christ (excluding the pedestal it was erected on).

The idea came from Ir. Ciputra, an Indonesian real estate developer, when he and his wife stood on the place where the statue is now.

The statue was built for Manado and North Sulawesi society and to worship God. The construction took nearly three years by the Yogyakarta Engineer.

The cost of the monument was five billion rupiah (about 540,000 dollars).

This statue has a declivity 20 degree and is made from fiber and steel and became the "first flying tallest statue in the world."

THIRD TALLEST IN THE WORLD WITHOUT THE PEDESTAL.....?

For nearly a century, Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer has overlooked Rio de Janeiro from Mount Corcovado. Arguably one of the most iconic statues in the world, the towering depiction of Jesus Christ immediately became a national symbol when it opened in 1931.

But now, a small Brazilian town has bested the statue with its own massive Jesus, CNN Travel’s Jack Guy, Vasco Cotovio, Rodrigo Pedroso, and Francesca Street report. One hundred forty-three feet in height, Cristo Protetor (Christ the Protector) was completed on April 22.

It’s located in Encantado in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul, a small locale of just roughly 23,000 people. Encantado may be tiny compared to the capital city, but it’s put itself on the map with the statue, which is now the tallest of its kind in the world—or not, depending on how you look at it.

Its sky-high rivals include Indonesia’s Jesus Buntu Burake (131 feet without pedestal) Poland’s Christ the King and Bolivia’s Christ of Peace (both 108 feet without pedestal or base). And of course there’s Christ the Redeemer (also 108 feet without pedestal, but a skosh shorter than Bolivia’s statue due to a different hairstyle.)

To All Christians .... “May your faith in the god, bring peace to your hearth & New hope in your live. May God Always bless You!” ― Have a Blessed GOOD FRIDAY!
