7 celebrities were given compounds amounting to RM19,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven celebrities who were investigated for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB) at a function Majlis Berbuka Puasa dan Rapatkan Saf 2021 at a hotel, here, on April 29, were fined RM19,000.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, said the compound action was decided by the Attorney -General's Chambers which returned the investigation paper to the police, yesterday.
"The Attorney-General's Chambers has decided that the six individuals involved will each be fined RM1,500.
“They are Nurin Afiqah Zulkifli, Nur Heliza Helmi, Nur Hazwani Helmi, Ahmad Faizal Yaakob, Wan Mawar Shaputri Wan Abdul Rashid and Nur Iman Alysaa Sahabuddin.
"All of them failed to wear face masks when attending the 2021 Breaking Fast and Closing Ceremony at a hotel in the capital," he said in a statement, today.
Mohamad Zainal said a RM10,000 compound was issued on rapper, Caprice or real name Ariz Ramli from the event organizing company, for failing to ensure that guests wore face masks during the event.
He said, all the individuals involved were compounded, yesterday, for failing to comply with the PKPB SOP set while attending the ceremony.
Earlier, it was reported that the police were conducting an investigation into the violation of the PKPB SOP following a viral photo showing some celebrities not wearing face masks at the event.
The investigation was conducted in accordance with Section 21 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 as well as Regulation 19 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Conditional Movement Control (No. 4) 2021 Regulations.
