A Must Visit for Ramadhan!
For many years we ranked Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur as one of the top spots in Kuala Lumpur to buka puasa during the holy month of Ramadan.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic and other challenges effecting the hotel industry, I had my doubts if they can continue to be among the best.
They cleared up all doubts during our two visits on Saturday and Tuesday with a spread that is truly So Sedap!.
The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur Citarasa Nusantara Ramadan Buffet at the Mahsuri Courtyard is smaller this year compared to other years but fare on offer was so tasty and well prepared.
With the pandemic, following the SOP is a priority and it’s no different here. The Hotel ensures all guest are scanned in with their temperatures taken, given gloves and security ensures that all guest line up when taking their food.
The Mahsuri Courtyard itself is like no other with a waterfall and tall trees surrounding the courtyard taking you to to a truly Nusantara setting.
The Stalls set up all around the courtyard gives it a truly festive atmosphere.
If you truly want to experience something different while breaking your fast during the month of Ramadan, you must make Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur as one of your must visit spots.
In fact with the tasty fare they have will ensure you are well contented.
The Must Try Dishes:
Kambing Bakar
To the star at all buka puasa buffets is the Kambing Bakar. Every year this is a major crowd favourite. The Royale Chulan Kambing Bakar is one of the best in KL -Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with three great tasting sauces for you to choose from.
Udang Nestum
This is simply another crowd favourite, I had no less than 10 prawns. The prawns are huge and simply melts in your mouth. Its so well prepared you can just take of the head and wallop it with the skin. This is one of the best dishes and I hope the hotel puts in their permanent menu.

Shell Out
The shell out stall is simply a sight to behold as you watch the chef prepare the wonderful seafood – prawns, crabs, mussels, squid all coming together on one sizzling grill
Ikan Bakar
The Ikan Bakar section gives you some well prepared grilled fishes, do try the stingray!
Rendang & Lemang
The Rendang and lemang stall offers some of the best tasting rendang’s in town. Meat is tender and succulent.

Lok Lok
The Lok-Lok is simply fabulous, many get carried away and simply pile up the food on their plates
Pasembor
The pasembor is another dish which is one of the best in town.

Mamak Mee & Kuey Teow
The reviewers were raving on how tasty the mamak mee and kuey teow was. It looked simple but it was full of flavour.
Pasta
Surprisngly the pasta was really tasty here. With all the traditional malay dishes available, this offers some variety to the buffet.

ABC
Don’t forget to try the ABC for dessert. You have a choice of more than 100 -200 condiments to add into your ABC. Simply a sight to behold.

Dessert and Cakes
Some of the cakes were really tasty, but some were not up to the mark and dry, they have a wide variety so you gotta choose carefully here. You can also have your bubur and ice cream. The bubur pengat pisang and bubur pulut hitam is to die for.

Hot & Cold Drinks
Im not sure how they got the taste consistently correct the whole night. They have the best hot and cold drinks in town. My favourite was the Nescafe and Sirap Bandung.

Overall The Royale Chulan Nusantara Buffet it is simply one of the best Ramadan Buka Puasa buffets in KL. You will not regret coming here
