A glove manufacturing company in Sitiawan has been found to have violated the workers' accommodation regulations set under the Workers' Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446).
The Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department enforcement director Zaini Yaacob said several offences committed by the company were uncovered during two separate raids at the foreign workers' hostels in Kampung Acheh.
Among them were overcrowding, lack of amenities and failure to obtain accommodation acknowledgement letter.
The operation which lasted for three hours was jointly held by the police, Perak health department, the International Trade and Industry Ministry and local authorities.
