SINGAPORE, Jan 30 -- Singapore will be suspending the Reciprocal Green Lane arrangements with three countries including Malaysia for a period of three months from Feb 1, the republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said.
The other two countries are Germany and South Korea, it said in a statement here today.
“The Government of Singapore will review the Reciprocal Green Lane arrangements at the end of the suspension period,” said the ministry.
The ministry noted that travellers who have already been approved to enter Singapore under these arrangements can continue to do so.
The MFA said the government of Singapore will continue to monitor the global situation and adjust its border measures to manage the risk of importation and transmission to the community.
Any changes to border measures will be updated on the SafeTravel website and travellers are advised to visit the website to check for the most updated border measures, it said.
Besides the three countries, Singapore has RGL arrangements with Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Japan, as well as six regions in China.
The RGL aimed to facilitate short-term essential business and official travel.
As of Jan 29, Singapore has reported a total of 59,449 COVID-19 confirmed cases of which 2,628 are classified as imported, 2,313 as community cases and 54,508 involving dorm residents.
