COVID: 476 more deaths in Indonesia, highest recorded in 24 hours

JAKARTA, Jan 28 -- Indonesia reported 476 more deaths from COVID-19, the highest so far within a period of 24 hours, since the first fatality on March 11, 2020.
The total number of deaths from the viral infection has thus reached 29,331.
Based on data posted on the Indonesian government’s official website on COVID-19, covid19.go.id, out of the 476 fatalities, 200 were reported in West Java province, Central Java (81), East Java (57), Jakarta (40) and the rest in the other provinces.
The highest number of fatalities recorded previously was 387, yesterday.
Indonesia has also recorded 13,695 new positive cases within a period of 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,037,993.
