Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Enforcement Department director remanded for six days

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 14 -- A Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Enforcement Department director has been remanded for six days starting today to assist in the investigation into allegations of accepting and collecting bribes to protect illegal business premises in Sungai Buloh.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court.

The 59-year-old suspect was arrested at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya after giving his statement at 10.15 this morning.

He was then taken to court at 3.07 pm in orange MACC lock-up attire.

Earlier today, three MBSA enforcement officers were also remanded for six days until Aug 19 as part of investigations into alleged bribe-taking in exchange for protecting illegal business premises in Sungai Buloh.

With the latest arrest, the MACC has detained 10 individuals in the case, comprising nine MBSA personnel and one trader.
