KLANG: Four people including three teenagers have been arrested over the brutal murder of a transgender woman here.

South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said they initially arrested a 19-year-old male suspect at around 10pm on Thursday (Dec 13).

"In a follow up operations about five hours later, we arrested a 21-year-old man.

"At 6.30pm today we arrested another two boys aged 16 and 17," he said when contacted.

He said all the suspects confessed their involvement in the case with another man who has also been identified.

"We have remanded the two suspects for six days and will apply for remand on the other two suspects tomorrow (Dec 15).

"Investigations revealed the motive for the murder was theft. The suspects claimed that the victim had stolen a mobile phone from one of them," he said.

It was reported that the transgender woman was beaten to death by a group of men here.

The 32-year-old woman from Sabah was believed to have been brutalised by several men wielding blunt weapons in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, on Wednesday night (Dec 12).

According to the post-mortem report, she suffered a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain, and had 32 groups of injuries inflicted upon her.

Her cause of death was due to severe head injuries caused by a blunt object.

This is not the first time a transgender woman has been brutalised in Klang.

In 2015, Sameera Krishnan was kidnapped, beaten up and tortured by several men near the Simpang Lima cemetary.

Luckily, the transgender woman was rescued after her captors got into a traffic dispute with another motorist on the way out of Klang.

Policemen, who arrived at the scene to break up the fight, discovered Sameera tied up in the back seat.

However, Sameera, 26, was murdered in Kuantan in Feb 2017. She was found dead with a gunshot wound and her body mutilated.

She had been shot in the posterior and four fingers of her right hand were cut off. She also had severe head injuries.
