KLANG: Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) president Datuk Azwanddin Hamzah Ariffin Abu Bakar (pic) has been remanded for four days as the police investigate him under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

The remand order was issued by magistrate Nik Nur Amalina Mat Zaidan at the Klang magistrate's court on Thursday (Dec 27).

About 20 people showed up at the entrance of the courthouse this morning in support of Azwanddin.

Azwanddin is being probed over a speech he gave at a rally organised by Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Geras) in Klang on Christmas Day (Dec 25).

He said an attack would be mounted on the Klang police station if no action was taken over the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

However, following Azwanddin's fiery speech at the rally, Geras president Abu Bakar Mohamed expressed regret over what he said.

Azwanddin was arrested by police around 2.40pm on Wednesday (dec 26) at the Kompleks Keramat Mall, Jalan Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur.

Muhammad Adib suffered serious injuries to his torso during the riots at the Seafield Maha Mariaman Temple on Nov 27.

He died of complications from his injuries at the National Heart Institute on Dec 17.
