KUALA LUMPUR: The woman, who claimed she was denied entry into Alam Damai police station in Cheras when she tried to seek protection from road bullies, said she has no plan to retract her police report.
Kogee Sinniah, whose video had gone viral on Monday, said she has forgiven the three men but at the same time felt they should also take responsibility for their action.
"It is only human to make mistakes but I believe they should face the consequences of their actions, although personally, I have forgiven them," she said yesterday.
She said whether the men had harassed her on purpose or otherwise, it was still an offence under the law and
they should be held responsible for it.
"It is not my intention to purposely put these boys through all these," said the 41-year old businesswoman from Cheras.
Meanwhile, on the internal inquiry against the sentry policemen, Kogee said she was disappointed that the incident had to happened the way it did.
"Police are supposed to protect and make us feel safe... but this is not an individual matter. It is not their mistake but the organisation's system that needed to be looked into.
"Internal inquiry will not solve the problem," Kogee said.
The single mother of one claimed that police had ignored her pleas for help despite being harassed in a road bully incident in Alam Damai, Cheras on Monday night.
She said at the time of the incident, her concern was about her and 12-year-old son's safety and she was certain that going to the nearest police station was the safest thing to do.
Following the incident, Kogee's two video recordings narrating her experience had also gone viral. She lodged a police report at the Cheras police headquarters on Tuesday afternoon. © New Straits Times
