THREE Opposition lawmakers who were told to apologise to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker for insulting him are not bowing to pressure.

Instead, the three – Nga Kor Ming (DAP-Taiping), Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham (DAP-Beruas) and V. Sivakumar (DAP-Batu Gajah) – want Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia (pic) to answer two questions related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) before they apologise.

“Our first question is why is the audit report on 1MDB not tabled in Parliament if there is no wrongdoing?” asked Nga during a press conference yesterday.

“Secondly, other countries have taken action related to 1MDB but why is our own government keeping silent?”

Separately, Ngeh claimed that preventing motions and questions on 1MDB was tantamount to contempt of Parliament.

He said a motion would be filed next week to debate on the matter.

Last Wednesday, the three accused Pandikar Amin of colluding with the ruling party to cover up corruption scandals when he did not allow their applications for emergency motions to debate the seizure of a super yacht in Indonesia and questions related to 1MDB.

The following day, Pandikar Amin reprimanded them for constantly challenging his discretionary powers to reject their motions.
