KUALA LUMPUR: Students at Sekolah Kebangsaan Danau Kota 1 here were horrified yesterday when a portion of their school’s roof blew off during a downpour. A chunk of the roof came crashing down onto the inner courtyard of the three-storey building, which looked like the scene of a disaster.
However, although nerves were frayed, no one was injured in the 3pm incident. Year Three pupil Qistina Batrisya Syazwan Izzat said that some of her startled classmates were crying when they saw the large roof torn away by the winds.

"I saw the roof blown away... then I hugged my teacher and sat behind the door (of a classroom), as I felt scared," she said. Parent of Year One pupil Mohd Azrul Syafiq, Muhd Azizul Dahali, 31, said his son was crying and traumatised by the incident. "I found out about the incident after being alerted by teachers through WhatsApp. (They had) asked (parents) to fetch the children," he said.
