KK Accident Victim Flung Onto Car; Remained Stuck Until Help Arrived

KOTA KINABALU: Bystanders in the heart of the city here could only watch helplessly as an accident victim, who had been flung onto the windshield of a Perodua MyVi, was left stuck for half an hour early this morning.
The conscious, bloodied and battered victim however, remained calm until help arrived at the scene of the accident at Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen in front of Hotel Promenade.
Adline Aslin, 20, who had been riding a motorcycle, had to be pried off the windshield by the Fire and Rescue Department’s first responders.
It is learnt that the victim was making a U-turn in front of a shopping mall near the hotel when he collided head on with the MyVi, which was heading to the waterfront.
The impact of the collision catapulted Adline onto the car.
A spokesman for the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre (PGO) said that a distress call was received at 1.50am, and that a team from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the site.
"Upon arrival, we spotted a severely injured victim… on the Perodua Myvi.
"(After he was removed from the vehicle), the Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) team stabilised the victim’s condition on site, and subsequently handed him over to the ambulance from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 (HQE 1) for further treatment,” said the spokesman.
It is learnt that the victim suffered a broken leg, among other injuries, but that his condition is stable.
