SUBANG JAYA: A man's decision to speed towards the police station ended up saving RM100,000 and ensuring the safety of his co-workers today.

The man and his two colleagues were in a security van after collecting cash from Bukit Puchong and were headed to Meranti Jaya.

However, during their journey, at 11.30am, the van was rear-ended by a Perodua Myvi.

The security firm employees then stopped the van by the roadside to check out the damage. Two men then emerged from the Myvi.

When the security firm employees told them that they were going to lodge a police report, the men in the Myvi appeared unhappy over the decision but relented after a while.

As they resumed their journey, they stopped at a set of traffic lights only to have the same Myvi ram into the back of the van twice.

The men from the Myvi got out from their car, and armed with a hammer, started smashing the van's windscreen and a side window.
The security firm employees then sped off towards the direction of the Bukit Puchong police station.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Azlin Sadari said police believe that the duo may have been planning to rob the security van.

Police are currently tracking down the two men.

The case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
