Alleged gangsters, Rottweiler attack Malacca council officers

Gangsters armed with machetes and swords attempted to intercept the vehicle of enforcement officers when they raided and confiscated equipment used in the unlicensed outlets.
MBMB special officer Mohd Yusof Abu Hassan told The Star that the brawl occurred when the gangsters attacked a group of enforcement officers who were only equipped with bamboo batons.
"These gangsters were very violent and assaulted the enforcement officers without fear.
"One outlet owner released his Rottwieller to scare off enforcement officers," he said when contacted.
Mohd Yusof said the 5.15pm operation were centred around Taman Melaka Raya following complaints of such illegal outlets there.
"Some of my officers suffered minor injuries in the attack," he said.
He also revealed that the gangsters used several cars to block the enforcement vehicles from leaving the scene with the confiscated items.
Mohd Yusof said despite the strong-arm tactics, the operation was carried out with a number of seizures made.
"We will lodge a police report on the incident," he said, adding that the operation was still ongoing.
