Listen To Prince's 1990 Ballad About Donald Trump
A 1990 Prince ballad has emerged online following the singer’s shocking death on Thursday.
Buzzfeed managed to dig up a track co-written by the pop icon called “Donald Trump (Black Version).”
Performed by R&B group The Time, the saxophone-tinged love song croons about the right type of man that a woman needs. The song’s chorus reads as follows: “Donald Trump (black version), maybe that’s what you need / A man that fulfills your every wish, your every dream./ Donald Trump (black version), come on take a chance./ A 1990s love affair, the real romance.”
After news of the singer’s death had reached Trump this week, the U.S. Republican Party nominee took to Twitter to honour the legend. "I met Prince on numerous occasions,” the polarizing figure said. “He was an amazing talent and wonderful guy. He will be greatly missed!"
According to Matt Thorne, the author of the biography “Prince: The Man and the Music,” the musician wrote the song in an attempt to explore “the theme of a black rewrite of Wall Street.”
