Police shot dead a suspected robber in front of his girlfriend after he rammed his car into a policeman.

PETALING JAYA: Police shot dead a suspected robber in front of his girlfriend after he rammed his car into a policeman.
In the 5am incident Tuesday, policemen on crime prevention patrol spotted four people in two cars acting suspiciously on Jalan Kilang 51/A, here.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the couple were in a Proton Perdana while two other men were in a Honda Stream.
"While policemen were questioning the group, the driver of the Proton Perdana rammed his car into a policeman who was on a motorcycle and injuring him
"In self-defence, the other policemen fired several shots at the driver," he said when met at the scene Tuesday.
The driver, later identified as Mohd Nizam, Subuh, 33, died at the scene while his girlfriend, 19, who was sitting beside him, was hit in the hand and thigh.
The other two men, believed to be part of a robbery gang, were also arrested.
ACP Mohd Zani said the group was behind several theft and robbery cases in the Klang Valley area and that both the cars were recently stolen.
"The three men, including the deceased had 14 prior records linked to various crimes and were wanted for two cases," he said.

The injured woman was sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for treatment while her boyfriend’s body was also sent to the same hospital for a post-mortem.
