PAGOH: The Citizens Declaration initiated by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be presented to the Conference of Rulers when the signatures collected are deemed sufficient, said Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir .
Mukhriz, the former Kedah mentri besar and one of those who signed the declaration with opposition leaders and political activists, said feedback from the people on the declaration has been positive.
"The declaration will of course be presented to the Government as well, as a reflection of the people's voice," Mukhriz told a press conference after meeting the people from Muar, Segamat and Tangkak on Monday.
He said the people behind the declaration, which seeks to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, have no choice because they do not want to wait until the next general election to remove Najib.
"We cannot wait for another two years and risk our party losing in the general election. We have to do it now to make things right.
"So, to the people, we apologise that we have to use this way," he added.
