JOHOR BARU: Police are closing in on two Casanovas who hooked up with their victims – one of whom is just 14 – through the social networking application before sweet talking them to bed.
One of the Casanovas, known only as Francis, befriended a Form Three student from Batu Pahat via WeChat and asked her to meet him in Johor Baru, which is some 125km away.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh said the girl took a bus to meet the 19-year-old youth last Thursday.
ACP Sulaiman said the victim was then taken to a shopping mall in the city centre before checking into a hotel for two nights.“They had a sex romp before he accompanied the girl back to Batu Pahat and left her at the bus station.
“The victim confessed to the tryst after much prodding from her grandfather,” he said, adding that a police report was lodged.
ACP Sulaiman said checks showed her parents were divorced and police were investigating the case for statutory rape.
In another case, a 22-year-old clerk had her nude photos taken by a man, known as Mohamad Faris, in his 20s, whom she also met through WeChat.
He said the victim revealed that since knowing the man last December, they had met about 10 times, usually at budget hotels where they had sex.
“During one of the trysts, she claimed the man took nude photos of her without her knowledge.
“She only found out about her nude photos on Facebook when a friend alerted her,” he said, adding that the suspect had contacted her twice earlier demanding RM1,400, failing which her photos would be released on the social media.
