MALACCA: A property broker who killed his six-year-old stepson for defecating in his car is now facing the gallows.
On Friday, Malacca High Court sentenced Azman Abdul Rahman, 41, after the court found beyond reasonable doubt that he had committed the crime five years ago.

Justice Zulkifli Bakar sentenced Azman under Section 302 of the Penal Code that carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
The prosecution was carried out by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurfarhana Ahmad while Azman was represented by counsel Mohamad Hilmy Samsudin.
Based on the statements of fact, Azman caned and kicked his stepson Muhammad Firdaus Mohd Dan, six, until he was lifeless, at a oil-palm estate at Kampung Solok Pinang, Gadek, Alor Gajah between 10.30am and 2.15pm on Oct 10, 2011.
Azman was incensed that the little boy had defecated in his car and used a tree branch as a cane, and violently kicked him, causing serious injury on the boy, who died on the spot.
Justice Zulkifli, when meting out the sentence, said that Azman failed to manage his anger and had the intention to inflict harm the victim on that day.
The court also felt that Azman’s action was overboard as he shouldn’t use violence to discipline an innocent child.
