KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty cakes were presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’ad­zam Shah in conjunction with his birthday today.
The cakes, contributed by various quarters, were presented to the King at the Banquet Hall of Istana Negara here yesterday.
Tuanku Abdul Halim and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah spent almost an hour viewing the cakes.
One of the cakes was from the Malaysian Armed Forces, carrying the theme ATM Taat Setia (Loyal Armed Forces) to express loyalty. The cake was presented by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.
Another cake, with the theme “Kapal Perang HMS Victory”, was presented by the Berjaya Waterfront Hotel Johor Baru.
The Putra World Trade Centre presented a 65kg cake bearing a rotating Royal Buggy that kept uttering the words “Daulat Tuanku”.
The cakes presentation is an annual event held in conjunction with the birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. — Bernama
