GEORGE TOWN: Seri Delima DAP assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer (pic) has been arrested over the 'celaka' remark he uttered at the state assembly building last month.
He is expected to be charged with sedition on Thursday.
Rayer, accompanied by state executive councillor Jagdeep Singh Deo, turned himself in at the George Town district headquarters at 3.45pm Wednesday.
It is learnt that 14 intruders who stormed into the assembly hall the following day would also be charged under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing.
George Town OCPD ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the arrest and said Rayer would be allowed to post bail.
He said according to the Sedition Act, there is no immunity even if the word was uttered during a state assembly sitting.
