KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — A Malay group demanded today that the 22-year-old Chinese man who allegedly created a furore through Facebook posts and insulting Islam to be taken to court as a lesson to others.
Pertubuhan Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) president Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah said the man, whose name on Facebook is Chow Jack, posted seditious remarks which also threatened the relationship between the different races in Malaysia.
“Chow Jack has insulted Malay kings, especially the Perak Sultan, Malay leaders, the prime minister, Prophet Mohammad, insulted the Islam religion, insulted Muslims around the world who will be celebrating the holy month of Ramadhan, by saying things that shouldn’t have been said,” he told reporters after lodging a police report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
A check on Chow Jack’s Facebook page showed numerous posts with profanities, mostly insulting Malays and Umno.
