KUALA LUMPUR: The prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, represented all Malaysians in conveying her support to the wife of a Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 passenger in Perth, Australia, yesterday.
During an emotional meeting with Danica Weeks, the wife of passenger Paul Weeks, about 10am Australia time, Rosmah was seen shedding tears and hugging the Australian woman.
The Weeks' two children -- 3-year-old Lincoln and year-old Jack -- were also present.
Paul, 39, a mechanical engineer was to start a new job in Mongolia, and was heading to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8 to get on a transit flight.
Rosmah, who was seen cuddling Jack, also gave Danica a handwritten card with a touching message.
"I can assure you, you are not in this alone. Not only me, but all Malaysians and the whole world are praying together with you for the recovery of the flight soonest possible," Rosmah wrote.
She said as a wife and mother, she understood how Danica felt and hoped the latter would be strong for the sake of her children.
"My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family, especially during this trying moment. Persevere and be strong throughout this difficult period, especially for your two lovely boys."
Rosmah was in Perth to accompany Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who was on a two-day working visit.
Danica, 37, was quoted by the Associated Press as saying the meeting with Rosmah gave her comfort and confidence that Malaysia was committed to finding answers to the plane's disappearance.
She said, however, the uncertainty surrounding the plane's fate made it impossible to cope with her loss.
