Amzah, 23, was part of the Malaysian Supernova showcase on Feb 3 at Midem, an annual gathering for the international music industry.

The showcase was initiated by the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) and supported by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, to expose local talents abroad.

RIM secretary Rosmin Hashim, who was at the showcase, said the attendees called Amzah the star of the night.

"Hopefully there'll be more to come... for us to go international," tweeted Amzah, after the showcase, where other Malaysian acts Azlan And The Typewriter, Goldkartz dan Thomas Jack also performed.

Amzah made waves in China when she won the Asian Wave 2012 singing  Zheng Fu, a Mandarin number by Chinese star Na Ying. Asian Wave 2012 was a reality show held in Shanghai.

Amzah first emerged as the runner-up in the Malaysian singing competition One In A Million in 2007.
