Three children saved by Good Samaritans in car fire, police confirm

PETALING JAYA: Police have clarified that three children between the ages of nine and 12, not two as earlier reported, were saved by Good Samaritans when a car burst into flames while parked outside the Selayang Hospital on Friday.'

Gombak OCPD ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the three children were left in the Proton Exora, with the air-conditioning on, for over an hour while their father went to pick up his wife from the hospital.
Miraculously, all three were pulled out with barely a scratch on them when people at the hospital noticed the blaze.
“I can confirm it was three, not two, based on the reports we received. The car’s air-conditioning is believed to have overheated and malfunctioned which resulted in the fire.
“The father should not have left them in the car because it could have turned out much worse than it did,” ACP Abdul Rahim said, adding that police were opening a negligence case against the children’s father.
