Police arrested 3 suspect involved in Karam Singh Walia's house break in and recover Car

KLANG: Police have arrested three suspects who are believed to be involved in the break in of famous TV3 personality Datuk Karam Singh Walia's house last week.

The three suspects were arrested in a raid by Johor Baru Utara district police early yesterday morning at Kampung Kempas Baru, Johor Baru.

In the 2.15am raid, police recovered Karam's stolen Volkswagen Passat (BKM 6060) and passport belonging to his family member.

They also seized several electronic equipment believed to be stolen, tools for stealing cars and several handbags at the premise.

Two of the suspects tested positive for amphetamine abuse.

Karam's house was broken into for the second time on Thursday.

His wife, Bhagwant Kaur, 55, rushed home when she received a text message from the alarm system and discovered that the front sliding door's padlock was broken when she arrived at about 4pm.

Upon inspection, she found out that the closet in the main bedroom was ransacked and her 36-inch television missing.

Also missing was her husband's grey Volkswagen Passat which was parked in front of the house.

Karam was not at home. He was in Sabah for an Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscomm) assignment.
The first time the house at Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Taman Seri Andalas, here, was broken into was in 2009.

In that incident, he lost more than RM100,000 in valuables including watches, mobile phones, jewellery, a laptop computer and cash.

Karam has been living in the same house for almost 30-years.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 and 379A of the Penal Code.
