KEMAMAN: A mother who queried her 14-year old daughter over the changes in her physical appearance, was shocked to discover that the girl was pregnant and a victim of incest.
It is learnt that the girl claimed to have been repeatedly raped by her 38-year old father from the age of six.
A source said the mother was concerned when she noticed her daughter appeared to look pale and sickly, and had a talk with the girl on Tuesday evening at their home in Kampung Pantai in Kemasek here.
The source said the girl later confessed that she was raped repeatedly by the father over the past eight years with the last incident taking place at their home early last month.
"The girl claimed the father had threatened to kill her if she told anyone," he said.
When contacted, Kemaman police chief Superintendant Che Suza Che Hitam said the victim had lodged a report at Air Jernih police station on Wednesday.
He said doctors at Kemaman Hospital where she was sent for the medical check-up, later confirmed the girl was 35-week pregnant.
He said the father who is a lorry driver, was detained the same day.
