PETALING JAYA: Thirteen female foreign workers, aged between 19 and 44, were detained during a raid over alleged involvement in vice activities at a club in Sunway Mentari near here.
The Selangor Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism unit (D7) carried out the raid at 10.30pm on Saturday.
The task force comprised four officers and 15 police personnel.
“Two of the women were unable to produce their passports,” said operation commander Asst Superintendent Mohd Shukri Abdullah.
“A 28-year-old man who we believe is the club manager was also detained,” he said.
ASP Mohd Shukri added that the club was operating without a licence.
“We have confiscated stereo equipment, an electronic gambling machine and RM703 from the premise.
“The suspects are being detained to assist in investigations,” said ASP Mohd Shukri.
