10 great dates for Valentine's Day

WITH the Chinese New Year mood still very much in the air, less attention is paid to a smaller occasion that is just around the corner – Valentine’s Day.
With the day fast approaching, Metro Online Broadcast (MOB) finds out from couples where are the popular places in the Klang Valley to go on dates.
We also have a list of suggestions for those who are happily single who want to be out on the town and have some good fun.
1. Suria KLCC
Though perpetually crowded due to its popularity, there is no denying that Suria KLCC is a great place to spend the day.
The couple can take a stroll at the park and later watch the Petronas Twin Towers light up at night.
2. Sunway Lagoon
For some sizzling hot fun in the sun, bring your date to experience the thrill rides and water park at Sunway Lagoon.
For those wanting more, the adjacent Sunway Pyramid has much to offer too such as an ice skating rink, bowling alleys, cinema and a plethora of eateries to choose from.
3. Kanching Rainforest Waterfall
Nature-loving couples wanting to get away from the city can spend the morning at Kanching Rainforest Waterfall, located in Templer’s Park.
Take a short hike to the waterfall pools to have a picnic or take a dip as you breathe the fresh air.
4. Perdana Botanical Gardens
Formerly known as Lake Gardens, Perdana Botanical Gardens sits in Kuala Lumpur’s backyard and it makes for another green option for a Valentine’s Day date.
Take a stroll through the beautifully maintained gardens and check out the nearby Kuala Lumpur Bird Park if it strikes your fancy.
5. Putrajaya Lake
Though a little out of the way, a cruise around Putrajaya Lake is one of the best way to see what Putrajaya has to offer.
If your budget allows it, have a romantic dinner on the cruise boat because the Seri Wawasan Bridge looks absolutely stunning at night.
6. Marini’s on 57
Be warned, Marini’s on 57 is not for those on a tight budget.
Treat your date to the classiest Italian food in town while enjoying a spectacular view of the Petronas Twin Towers up close — 57-storeys high.
The bar also offers a fine selection of wine and other drinks to your liking.
7. Le Midi Restaurant
Located in Bangsar Shopping Centre, this cosy French fine-dining restaurant has an amazing view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
8. Acme Bar and Coffee
If coffee and cakes are more to your date’s liking, Acme Bar and Coffee is one trendy café that you might want to try. Situated at The Troika near KLCC, it is ideal for some quiet time with your date.
9. Sembunyi Spa
Show your date they are worth splashing out a little extra cash for a full day of pampering at the spa.

10. Home
