Legoland water park a big hit with many attractions
NUSAJAYA: The Legoland Malaysia Water Park is finally open to the public.
Busloads of local and foreign visitors were among the first to experience the 70 rides, slides, shows and attractions at the new water theme park here yesterday.
Singaporean Gerry Lim, 35, said he took a day off from work just to bring his three children to the water park.
“The park truly caters to both adults and children and even my wife and I had fun on the water slides.
“Some of the rides such as the Brick Blaster Slide can be enjoyed by the families and this makes it all the more fun for us,” he said.
Pupil Noor Batrisya Balqis Mohd Zuraidi, 12, who came with her 38 schoolmates and teachers from Kuala Lumpur, said she had been waiting all year for the opening of the attraction.
“When I heard that my teachers were organising a school trip to Legoland, I jumped at the opportunity,” she said, adding that she especially enjoyed the Joker Soaker attraction.
With the opening of the park, Legoland Malaysia has transformed into a resort. The Legoland water park is the first in Asia and the largest in the world.
Its general manager Seigfried Boerst said thousands of visitors are expected to throng the park.
“We are looking forward to welcoming a huge crowd during the weekend,” he said.
Legoland Malaysia Hotel is due to open in December. The hotel will have 249 family-based rooms.
