Google Malaysia search engine page hacked
KUALA LUMPUR: Google Malaysia's search engine, at its web address www.google.com.my was apparently hacked early today by a group calling themselves the 'Pakistani branch' of 'TeaM Madleets.'
The group had since replaced the usual white-in-colour Google search engine page with a black background and posted a line across it - 'Google Malaysia STAMPED by Pakistani Leets'.
The most popular search engine is currently down, and any attempt to open it now will be prompted by an error page with the message - 'This webpage is not available', when using the Google's own Google Chrome web browser, which is also evident of a 'cyber disturbance' with glitches on usage, and took longer than usual to respond.
Believed to be done in the wee hours of local time by the group of hackers, all 26 of them, which stated that 'We are TeaM Madleets' and had their web monikers displayed for all to see under it.
The 26 'net nicknames' in which they identified themselves with are: 'H4x0r HuSY - KhantastiC HaXor - H4x0rL1f3 - InvectuS - Shadow008 - r00x - Don - MindCracker - Dr.Z0mbie - phpBuGz - MaD GirL - MaDCoDe - Sn!p3r_GS - DeXter - Neo Haxor - Darksnipper - Pain006 - b0x - R3DL0F - Sahrawi - 3thicaln00b - Hmei7 - MakMan - Sniffer - AL.MaX HaCkEr - Ch3rn0by1'
They had also unabashedly put what looks like their group's web address - 'www.MaDLeeTs.com' and there was also an email address, perhaps of their leader - 'LeeTHaXor@Y7mail.com', although the name 'LeeTHaXor' was not among the 27 displayed.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) (skmm.gov.my) has yet to issue any statement on the matter, and the same goes to the national cyber security specialist agency CyberSecurity Malaysia (www.cybersecurity.my) under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).
