A famous rapper from the United States, Fatman Scoop has reportedly died while performing a free concert in Connecticut this weekend.

Scoop who collaborated with other artists including Missy Elliott through the hit Lose Control and Ciara fainted while performing before being confirmed dead.

In a video that went viral on platform X, the owner, real name Isaac Freeman III, collapsed behind the DJ table after asking the audience to 'make some noise'.



He who also collaborated with Mariah Carey for the song It's Like That was then rushed to the hospital before being pronounced dead.

The rapper, who began his career in the 90s, died at the age of 53, reports The Guardian.

As news of his death spread, industry friends including Elliott expressed grief.

"Fatman Scoop's voice and energy have been channeled in many songs that make people happy and want to dance more than two close.

"The impact you left behind is huge and will never be forgotten," wrote Elliott on X
