PETALING JAYA, Jan 20 -- A storekeeper pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here today, to a charge of threatening a man last week by saying to him, “Wait, tomorrow you’ll die.”
Muhammad Daniel Shahrizan Majuka, 41, was charged with committing the offence against Mohd Razi Othman, 40, at the Serdang Industrial Area, near here, at 6.30 pm on Jan 13.
The charge for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code provides for a jail term of up to seven years or a fine or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor, Siti Zubaidah Mahat offered bail of RM5,000 with one surety but the accused’s lawyer, Chui Jing Hong asked that the amount be reduced as his client was supporting a wife and two children.
Magistrate Zhafran Rahim Hamzah allowed the accused bail of RM2,300 with one surety and set March 31 for case mention.
