5-Metre Long Crocodile Takes Centrestage On The Streets In Limbang
LIMBANG: The presence of a five-metre long crocodile crawling on the streets created quite a buzz in in the Westlake Centre here this morning.
Estimated to weigh about a tonne, the reptile was spotted as early as 7am by many who watched from a safe distance, snapping photos and following its movement on the streets.
A team from the Fire and Rescue department was dispatched to the area, about 100m from Sungai Limbang, following a report at about 7.30am.
A spokesman from the district station said it took the team about 50 minutes to subdue the crocodile.
“The team covered its head first before tying up its jaws and legs as a precaution. It was a huge one and probably weigh about a tonne,” he said.
The crocodile was thereafter lifted into the back of a lorry before being handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation for further action.
