Armed robbers struck a delivery truck outside a goldsmith supplier's and got away with an estimated 10kg of gold






A police forensics team has cordoned off the area and is gathering evidence at the scene.
BUTTERWORTH: Armed robbers struck a delivery truck outside a goldsmith supplier's business premises on Jalan Siram here and got away with an estimated 10kg of gold worth about RM2mil.

According to eyewitnesses, two men from the delivery truck had just come out of the business premises located on the second floor at about 9.30am on Monday when three suspects in a red car stopped beside the truck.
Two suspects armed with an axe and knife then got down and robbed the truck, fleeing with two bags of gold.
Eyewitnesses said that a licensed security officer passing by the scene saw the incident and fired a few shots from his handgun.
A police forensics team has cordoned off the area and is gathering evidence at the scene.
