IPOH: Police arrested a total of 62 people after they tested positive for drugs at a "wild party" held at a hotel here on Saturday night.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan said among those arrested were 13 women and one polytechnic student.

He said a team from the Perak Narcotics and Investigations Department busted the private party.

"The raid was conducted at the seventh floor of the hotel at 2.30am. When the police ambushed the party, the partygoers were dancing to the loud music provided by a DJ," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Comm Hasnan said checks were conducted on some 225 people aged between 18 and 35.

He said initial investigations revealed that the party's organiser advertised the event through several social media chat applications.
