Bersih 5: Jamal remanded for four days
PETALING JAYA: The Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos (pic) has been ordered to be remanded for four days by the Ampang magistrate's court.
The court passed the remand order for Jamal and two Red Shirts supporters for investigations into three cases of rioting, obstructing a policeman on duty and using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty.
Red Shirts legal adviser Datuk Mohd Imran Tamrin said the trio will be taken to the Selangor police headquarters for their remand.
He said Jamal was arrested in connection with the fracas between him and the police at Ampang Point on Nov 13
Jamal was escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs at about 2.05pm Saturday.
He weakly chanted "merah, merah, hidup merah" to a small group of Red Shirts supporters who showed up in court in solidarity with the Sungai Besar Umno division chief.
The Sungai Besar Umno division chief was detained at about 1.30am on Saturday.
He was brought to the Selangor Police headquarters in Shah Alam.
