PETALING JAYA: Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos wants Ampang PKR Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly to explain how he managed to purchase a luxury house in Kuala Lumpur at such a young age.

Jamal had invited selected members of the media on a helicopter ride, courtesy of his friend, over the house allegedly belonging to Adam.

He claimed that the 28-year-old Adam had accumulated a large amount of wealth and brought the media to make an aerial observation of the property.

"I would like to clarify that I am not accusing, but would like Adam to answer what the source of his incredible wealth is," Jamal said during a press conference outside the house.

The two-and-a-half story bungalow, built in a castle-like design complete with turrets, lies in the middle of Ampang in an urban-kampung housing area.

Jamal pointed out that the house did not have water nor electricity meters.

Ampang Umno chief Datuk Ismail Kijo also pointed out that the home did not appear to have either electric or water meters.

According to a resident who lives nearby, Adam moved into the house with his family in September.

Prior to that, the building was an abandoned project and had only recently been renovated and painted.

Ismail will be lodging a report at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Ampang at 4pm Tuesday over Adam's purported wealth.

Adam Rosly: I purchased house with hard-earned cash

KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang PKR Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly (pic) says he was able to afford a castle-like house in Ampang as he is a successful businessman.

"In this day and age, it's not abnormal for the young to be rich. I can assure that I made my money from hard work," said Adam.

He explained that he made his wealth through various businesses that he inherited from his family.

"Not everyone who is rich made their money from political funding. If I had done so, I would not be openly building such a home in an area like this," he said.

Adam added that the house in question, which Jamal claimed had a value of RM7mil, only cost him RM1mil.

He said he had won the bid for the house, which was an abandoned project, in a bank auction.

Stressing that he did not have any positions in the state government, Adam said PKR Youth did its best to ensure members were not corrupt.

"We are clean and I call for Jamal not to turn to gutter politics," he said.

Adam said this on Tuesday after lodging a police report against Jamal for gathering in front of his house in Ampang on Sunday.
