‘Casanova Ustaz’ jailed for five months

KUALA LUMPUR: The Syariah Lower Court has sentenced a health drink seller nicknamed "Casanova Ustaz” to five months in jail for attempted polygamy and not registering his marriage.
He was also ordered to pay a RM4,000 fine on Monday.
Mohd Razis Ismail (pic), 34, was sentenced by Syarie Judge Mohd Saifullah Hamzah to five different charges involving five different women: three charges for attempted polygamy without permission and two charges for getting married without the court registrar's permission.
Clad in a red jail outfit, Razis who was seen calm upon receiving his sentence from the dock, had pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted polygamy with three other women, aged 24, 35, and 30 on Feb 29.
He also pleaded guilty to marrying two women, aged 24 and 40, without court permission on April 4, 2010 and May 26, 2012.
The offence was committed at three different locations: Kedah; Golok, Thailand and a flat in Jalan Loke Yew, here, between April 4, 2010 and Aug 26, 2012
