KUALA LUMPUR: The outcome of the investigation on the RM2.6bil political donation has already been reviewed by the Operations Review Panel (ORP) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Minister in the Prime Minister's department Datuk Paul Low (pic) in a parliamentary written reply said the case was presented to the review panel after the Attorney-General’s Chambers made a decision on the case.
“The review panel is aware of the decision made by the A-G’s Chambers and now calls for MACC to engage with them for further clarifications on the decision,” he said.
Low was responding to a question by Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli who had asked for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to state the developments on the investigation by the review panel of the anti-graft agency.
Najib has said that the money was a political donation from the Saudi royal family and added that he had returned the money.
Last week, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman confirmed that Najib had returned RM2.03bil of the sum.
