KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian financier Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, has no dual citizenship, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) told Parliament.
Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, was replying to Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen who had asked whether Jho Low possessed an American passport and if so, would the Government revoke his Malaysian citizenship.In a written reply Tuesday, the Home Minister confirmed that Jho Low only had a valid Malaysian passport, adding that his ministry had not received any complaints against the businessman over the issue.
"Based on investigations by the ministry, we only found that he has a valid Malaysian citizenship.
"The ministry did not receive any reports or complaints of him possessing a dual citizenship.
"The ministry did not receive any reports or complaints of him possessing a dual citizenship.
“We also did not receive any application from him to forego his Malaysian passport," said Dr Ahmad Zahid.
