KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has confirmed that the Prime Minister received a donation from the Saudi royalty which was later returned.
In a written reply Monday, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said that Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had received the donation to his personal account without conditions.
"In August 2013, he had returned the RM2.03bil back to the Saudi royalty, as none of it was used " she said.
However, she did not elaborate on who the royalty was and the full donation amount.
The question was directed by Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian.
He had asked the identity of the donor and how much of the RM2.6bil was returned.
