Man killed, woman injured in head-on crash in Kluang

KLUANG: A man, who works as a lorry driver, died on the spot following a head-on collision between a Perodua Myvi and a Proton Saga along Jalan Kluang-Teck Wah Hing here.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Laham said the deceased identified as Sandran, 43, was driving alone in a Proton Saga when a Perodua Myvi rammed into him at KM15 of the two-lane road at around 8.15am on Saturday.
Investigations showed that the Myvi driver, who was heading to Renggam from Kluang, had lost control of her car and swerved to the opposite lane.
ACP Mohamad said that Sandran died on the spot due to severe injuries to his head and chest while Myvi driver Aw Sioe Fern Aw, 34, broke her left hand and right leg in the incident.
“Aw is currently seeking treatment at Hospital Besar Enche Kluang while the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem,” he said adding that the case was classified under Section 41(a) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving
