Wahid Omar hits out against 'malicious reporting' on toll hikes

PETALING JAYA: Statements attributed to Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar concerning toll hikes on certain online news portals are not accurate.

In a statement released on Friday, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department said that the reports were "malicious" and imprecise.
"Thank you for asking me and not spreading false reports," he said.
Abdul Wahid claimed that an online news portal "manipulated his statement" on Dec 14, which was made 18 months ago and was uploaded again on June 12 by another portal with "malicious intent".
"There is a more accurate report by Bernama in mStar . I did not make any new statement," he said.
He also called for divine guidance to the two portals which he claimed spread rumors without checking facts.
In the 2013 article, Abdul Wahid said that toll hikes for 2014 were unavoidable as it was included in the concession agreement between the Government and highway concessionaires.
