Titled Embracing Rasulullah, the exhibition
will be held from 27 July to 9 August 2015 at the Royal Museum in Jalan Istana,
Kuala Lumpur and open to the public, including non-Muslims. Entry to the exhibition is Free.

At a press conference
to announce the exhibition, Tourism Minister Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said
the event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to personally view the Holy Hair
of Rasulullah (SAW) and other relics handed down to His companions and
conserved for generations until today.
He said Malaysia had
the great honour of being the first country in the region entrusted to host
this historical Holy Relics exhibition.
Nazri said the stand of hair had been bestowed by the trusted keeper of the Prophet’s relics, Syeikh Ahmad al Khazhaji of the United Arab Emirates.Recalling his first encounter with the relic, the minister said he was amazed to find that the hair had kept growing over the years.
“I first gazed upon the magnificence of the strand of hair on May last year. We found out it had kept growing over the years and I was filled with awe. It is a very invaluable experience,” he said. Nazri added that the opportunity to house the relic had been given to Malaysia in the midst of tragedies and violence associated with Islam.“I think this is the best time to feel and learn the prophet’s policy of justice and harmony,” he said.
The other relics will need to be returned when the exhibition is over. The strand of hair, however, will be housed in the Royal Museum.

“Malaysia is a
favourite destination for Islamic cultural tourism in the Asian and Asia
Pacific Regions, and with the Embracing
Rasulullah (SAW) event, we can further strengthen our position as the
global hub for Islamic intellectual excellence,” he said.
Over four million visitors from Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and India and other Muslim-majority countries are expected to visit the exhibition.

Event organiser, Textstar Oil Group said the relics would also include clothes and shoes of the Prophet and his companions. He said the Global Islamic Conference with speakers focussing on the Prophet’s way of life and his policies would also be held. “Non-Muslims are also invited to come because we are trying to promote moderation,” said Textstar president Datuk Seri Mohammad Raza Khan.
