PETALING JAYA: A Canadian claiming to be one of the nudists who posed at the peak of Mount Kinabalu last month has called Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun an “idiot” for linking their stripping to the recent earthquake.
“Oh, Malaysia, why are your politicians so stupid,” said travel videographer Emil Kaminski, who founded Monkeetime blog.
“Some deranged p***k has linked earthquakes and mountaintop nudity,” he wrote on Monkeetime’s Facebook page yesterday.
“Well, apparently I am responsible for the 2015 Nepal quake, and whatever incoming quakes in Canada (as well as Thailand, India, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and a variety of other countries ... ),” he said, while posting a picture of him exposing his naked behind at various other mountain tops.
On Twitter, he also called Masidi an “idiot” and “not a minister of tourism”.
Masidi retweeted the Canadian’s post with the comment: “Just got this very complimentary posting from the nudist. I say, ‘it takes a monkey to call another person a monkey’.”
Kaminski also said the Kadazandusun belief that Mount Kinabalu was sacred was “mere superstition”.
