KUALA LUMPUR: The bloodied body of a man, believed to a Saudi Arabian, was found sprawled on the backseat of a white Toyota Camry parked along Jalan Dang Wangi here.
The car was parked some 200m from the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said a female passer-by contacted the authorities after making the shocking discovery at about 7.40pm Tuesday.
"Our checks revealed that the car is registered to a foreigner.
"Police at the scene found the 30-year-old victim lying in the backseat.
"We are scrutinising closed circuit television footage from nearby shops," he added.
Police are still investigating the cause and possible motive of the man’s death.
"Initial investigations revealed that the deceased was at a nearby entertainment outlet with two friends.
"One of them was causing a ruckus, prompting security guards to chase them out of the premise.
"The victim was then beaten up by a crowd outside the entertainment outlet," SAC Zainuddin added.
The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code
