PETALING JAYA: A five-car pile-up caused a two-hour jam that stretched for at least three kilometres along the Federal Highway here late Sunday.
Taxi driver K. Haritharan, 47, said the multi-vehicle collision was set off by a vehicle that had stopped in the fast lane around 10pm due to a puncture.
"The driver of the car behind it slammed on the brakes in order to avoid crashing into the vehicle.
"A total of five cars crashed into each other's rear end. Luckily, no one was injured in the accident," he added.
Haritharan's taxi was one of the two vehicles that was badly damaged in the collision.
The car with the punctured tyre was unaffected.
An officer from the district traffic police headquarters here confirmed receiving a report on the accident.
